Consumer/Insurance

Background:

We live in a world that is becoming more complex every day from both financial and everyday living viewpoints.  Financial exploitation and efforts to invade our privacy are of special concern to older Americans.  For example, the Department of Financial Institutions estimates that nationally approximately 5 million senior citizens succumb to financial abuse every year.

There were a number of bills introduced in the 2009 Legislative Session that, if enacted, would have reduced the danger of inappropriate and/or illegal treatment not only to seniors, but to all residents of the State of Washington. The following consumer bills have passed the Washington Legislature in 2009.
