Canal-Area Residents Urged to ‘Do Some Good for the Hood’

BELFAIR — “Family-friendly” events scheduled around Hood Canal are being seen as a call to action for people living in the watershed.

“Do Some Good for the Hood” is the name given to the program, which runs through the month of May as currently planned.

Activities range from beach walks to park cleanups, from installing pet-waste stations to marking storm drains.

Those who would like to organize their own activities and rally their friends and neighbors are invited to join the program, which may become an annual event, according to Nora Maloney at WSU Mason County Extension.
